Sul mare luccica l’astro d’argento.
Over the sea shines the silver star.
Placida è l’onda, prospero è il vento.
The wave is calm, the wind is favorable.
Venite all’agile barchetta mia,
Come aboard my nimble little boat,
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
Con questo zeffiro, così soave,
With this zephyr, so gentle,
Oh, com’è bello star sulla nave!
Oh, how beautiful it is to be on the boat!
Su passeggeri, venite via!
Come aboard, passengers, come away!
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
O dolce Napoli, o suol beato,
Oh sweet Naples, oh blessed land,
Ove sorridere volle il creato.
Where creation chose to smile.
Tu sei l'impero dell’armonia,
You are the empire of harmony,
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
