Giro, giro tondo

Giro giro tondo, gira il mondo,

Round and round we go, the world spins,

gira la terra, tutti giù per terra!

the earth spins, everyone falls to the ground!

Giro giro tondo, il mare è fondo,

Round and round we go, the sea is deep,

tonda è la terra, tutti giù per terra!

the earth is round, everyone falls to the ground!

Giro giro tondo, l’angelo è biondo,

Round and round we go, the angel is blond,

biondo è il grano, tutti ci sediamo!

the wheat is blond, we all sit down!

Giro giro tondo, ora ti circondo

Round and round we go, now I surround you

come una ciambella, tutti giù per terra!

like a doughnut, everyone falls to the ground!
