Texto e tradução

Tyger Tyger, burning bright,

Tigre, tigre, que ardes brilhante,

In the forests of the night;

Nas florestas da noite;

What immortal hand or eye,

Que mão ou olho imortal

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Pôde forjar a tua temível simetria?

In what distant deeps or skies.

Em que profundezas ou céus distantes

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?

Ardeu o fogo dos teus olhos?

On what wings dare he aspire?

Em que asas ousou aspirar?

What the hand, dare seize the fire?

Que mão ousou agarrar o fogo?

And what shoulder, & what art,

E que ombro, e que arte,

Could twist the sinews of thy heart?

Pôde torcer os tendões do teu coração?

And when thy heart began to beat.

E quando o teu coração começou a bater.

What dread hand? & what dread feet?

Que mão terrível? E que pés terríveis?

What the hammer? what the chain,

Que martelo? Que corrente?

In what furnace was thy brain?

Em que forno foi forjado o teu cérebro?

What the anvil? what dread grasp.

Que bigorna? Que aperto temível.

Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

Atreveu-se a abraçar os seus terrores mortais?

When the stars threw down their spears

Quando as estrelas lançaram as suas lanças

And water'd heaven with their tears:

E regaram o céu com as suas lágrimas:

Did he smile his work to see?

Sorriu ao ver a sua obra?

Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Aquele que fez o Cordeiro fez-te a ti?

Tyger Tyger burning bright,

Tigre, tigre, que ardes brilhante,

In the forests of the night:

Nas florestas da noite:

What immortal hand or eye,

Que mão ou olho imortal

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Atreve-se a moldar a tua temível simetria?
