Texto e tradução

"Hope" is the thing with feathers

"A esperança" é a coisa com penas

That perches in the soul,

Que pousa na alma,

And sings the tune without the words,

E canta a melodia sem palavras,

And never stops at all,

E nunca para,

And sweetest in the Gale is heard;

E mais doce se ouve na tempestade;

And sore must be the storm

E muito forte deve ser a tempestade

That could abash the little bird

Que pudesse envergonhar o passarinho

That kept so many warm.

Que aqueceu tantos.

I've heard it in the chillest land,

Ouvi-a na terra mais fria,

And on the strangest sea;

E no mar mais estranho;

Yet, never, in extremity,

E ainda assim, nunca, na adversidade,

It asked a crumb of me.

Pediu-me uma migalha.
