1. Es beginnt mit Kartoffeln,

   It starts with potatoes,

2. die Möhren schäle ich auch.

   I also peel the carrots.

3. Ich wasche sie gut,

   I wash them well,

4. und schneid' sie dann im Nu.

   and then cut them quickly.

5. In Butter brät jetzt alles,

   Now everything fries in butter,

6. Lauch und Sellerie brauche ich auch.

   I also need leeks and celery.

7. Die Küche riecht so lecker,

   The kitchen smells so delicious,

8. da freut sich schon mein Bauch.

   my stomach is already happy.

9. Kartoffelsuppe, die schmeckt mir sehr.

    The soup simmers quietly,

16. zehn Minuten, das ist toll.

17. Petersilie kommt noch rein,

    Parsley goes in now,

18. ich rühr' um, das sieht gut aus.

    I stir it, it looks good.

19. Dann ruht die Suppe, Deckel drauf,

    Then the soup rests, lid on,

20. sie ist ein wahrer Schmaus!
