1. Morgens steh’ ich früh schon auf,

   In the morning, I get up early,

2. weißes Mehl liegt auf dem Tisch.

7. Heute back’ ich nicht nur Brot,

   Today I bake not only bread,

8. heut’ zeig’ ich es der Welt.

   today I show it to the world.

9. Ich werd’ ein Bäcker-Star,

   I will become a baking star,

10. alle rufen: wunderbar!

    everyone shouts: wonderful!

11. Mit Brot, mit Kuchen, süß und fein,

    With bread, with cake, sweet and fine,

12. will ich ganz oben sein.

    I want to be right at the top.

13. Ich werd’ ein Bäcker-Star,

    The oven shines like stage lights,

    The buns are golden brown and warm,

20. ich zeig’ mein Siegergesicht.

    I show my winner's face.

21. Die Torte steht wie eine Krone,

    The cake stands like a crown,

22. der Kuchen duftet weit und breit.

    the cake smells far and wide.

23. Bald kennt mich jede Stadt im Land,

    Soon every city in the country will know me,

24. denn jetzt ist meine Zeit.
