1. Le pain sent si bon, j'ai faim,

   The bread smells so good, I'm hungry,

2. Je rentre vite ce matin.

   I'm coming back quickly this morning.

3. Sous mon bras il est encore chaud,

   Under my arm it is still warm,

4. Je vais prendre un bon morceau.

   I'm going to take a good piece.

5. J'en casse un bout sans m'arrêter,

   I break off a piece without stopping,

6. Et je commence à le manger.

   And I start eating it.

7. Devant chez moi, j'arrive enfin,

   In front of my house, I finally arrive,

8. Mais il ne reste plus de pain.

   But there is no more bread left.
