Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
Tigar, tigar, što sjajiš sjajno,
In the forests of the night;
U šumama noći;
What immortal hand or eye,
Koja besmrtna ruka ili oko,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
Moglo je oblikovati tvoju strašnu simetriju?
In what distant deeps or skies.
U kojim dalekim dubinama ili nebesima.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
Gorjela je vatra tvojih očiju?
On what wings dare he aspire?
Na kojim krilima se usudio težiti?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
Koja ruka se usudila uzeti vatru?
And what shoulder, & what art,
I koje rame, i koja umjetnost,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
Mogli su saviti tetive tvog srca?
And when thy heart began to beat.
I kad je tvoje srce počelo kucati.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
Kakva strašna ruka? I kakva strašna stopala?
What the hammer? what the chain,
Koji čekić? Koji lanac?
In what furnace was thy brain?
U kojoj je peći bila tvoja pamet?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Kakav nakovanj? Kakav strašan stisak.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
Usudio se prigrliti njezine smrtonosne strahove?
When the stars threw down their spears
Kad su zvijezde bacile svoje koplja
And water'd heaven with their tears:
I zalijevali nebo svojim suzama:
Did he smile his work to see?
Je li se nasmiješio vidjevši svoje djelo?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Je li onaj koji je stvorio Jaganjca stvorio i tebe?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
Tigar, tigar, što sjajiš svijetlo,
In the forests of the night:
U šumama noći:
What immortal hand or eye,
Koja besmrtna ruka ili oko
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
Usuđuje se oblikovati tvoju strašnu simetriju?
